Born in Shaoshanin Central China. Mao Tse-Tung's passions were to read (especially Confucian Analects and poems), and Politics. He founded the People's Republic of China in 1949. He was the head and founder of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He built the Red Army for anti-Japanese purposes. Mao Tse-Tung put people into four social classes: workers, peasants, bourgeoisie, and national capitalist. In 1958 he launched.
The Great Leap Foward. It's goal was to accomplish the economic and technical development by placing all control on individual communes, making them self-supporting. The Great Leap Forward was a failure
and ended in 1960. As a result Chairman Mao stepped down as the Chairman of the People's Republic of China.
I think that Mao Tse-Tung is important because he fought for the poor and believed in "sharing" within a country.
While his idea was brilliant, it wasn't ideal for such a large country and therefore many criticize what Mao-Tse Tung stood for and believed.
