Bruce Lee   (1940-73)

Bruce Lee was the film actor who made the Chinese martial art of kung- fu widely known through out the world. The new sport was taken up with great enthusiasm and numbers of kung fu clubs were established.  

Bruce was born in San Francisco, the son of a Chinese opera singer, and spent his early years partly in the United States and partly in Hong Kong, where he went so school and college.

At the age of fifteen he began to take a keen interest in the Chinese art of self-defense known as wing chun kung fu, devoting his whole energy to a hard training programmed, self-imposed, developing his own ideas and techniques and finally creating his own form of martial art, jeet kune do.  In 1961 he began to study philosophy at George Washington University, and founded his first jeet kune do school in Seattle.  

He made his debut on television in 1966 ins thirty-part serial, “The Greer Hornet”. His first starring role was in “Fists of Fury” 119701. and thereafter until his death from a viral infection at the early age of 33, one film followers another “Enter the Dragon”, ‘Return of the Dragon”. “The Dragon Diet Hard”, etc.
